Sihing Ben Rogers began his training in March of 2001 at the age of 18 with Action Kung Fu Martial Arts Academy under the teachings of Sifu Richard Gamboa and Sihings Jonathan Werner and Tim Innis. Since that time, Sihing Ben has trained many aspects of martial arts including Southern Praying Mantis Kung Fu, traditional Chinese weapons, Shaolin Kenpo, Drunken Style Kung Fu, Chi Kung, Power Strength Training, Lion Dance and Eastern medicine and philosophy.
With more than 11 years of training experience, Sihing Ben has been assisting Action Kung Fu in the instruction of students since January of 2007. Sihing Ben is well versed in teaching people of all ages, including children as young as 3 years old. He currently runs the Little Ninjas program at Action Kung Fu as well as working with teenage and adult students in Action Kung Fu’s weapons and Southern Praying Mantis Kung Fu classes.
Being no stranger to the public arena, Sihing Ben began competing in 2008 and has medaled in every competition he has participated in, never finishing lower that 3rd place. He has demonstrated in front of the Chicago School of Oriental Medicine, performed in public for many years at the Algonquin Founder’s Day Parade with the instructors and students of Action Kung Fu and has also demonstrated at many festivals.
In addition to all of this, Sihing Ben also travels the country spreading the benefits and philosophy of Kung Fu and the martial arts. He has been running seminars for adults and children at many events and festivals in the Chicagoland area for the past 2 years and is also available for private seminars and instruction.
